We’re looking for an Assistant Branch Manager to join our Birmingham Grand Central Location. This is the chance to be a part of something innovative, inspirational and exciting. All staff are treated like family and we create a pleasurable work environment where you can grow, learn and excel.

Your Role:
We are looking for someone with passion for the industry that has a hands-on approach to work. Someone with the ability to respond to daily business requirements in a timely and professional manner and a professional who thrives on leading by example and developing and motivating the team to work to the highest possible standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with staff rotas, updating relevant systems, recruitment, training and development
  • Ensuring customers receive a high level of customer service at all times
  • Working closely with the manager and staff to ensure high levels of food, hygiene and health & safety are maintained
  • Ensuring all staff have a good knowledge of the food and products to assist customers with any queries
  • Supporting the manager with analyzing and generating various reports including expenditure, revenue and stock control management
  • Day to day running of the branch
  • Focusing on driving sales and profit
  • Managing the performance of the team through on-going evaluations, listening, training   and mentoring
  • Ensuring stock checks are completed at regular intervals
  • Ensuring the correct procedures are followed when serving food, in line with food safety, packaging and portion size
  • Receiving goods and deliveries and ensuring they are placed in the relevant areas
  • Completing all relevant paperwork as required, for example, product temperature checks in line with our food management system.
  • Dealing with customers in an efficient, professional and friendly manner at all times
  • Dealing with any customer complaints in line with company procedures
  • Keeping constantly up to date with menu changes and any promotions in the company
  • Providing customers with relevant information on products and any other requests
  • Following all relevant cash handling procedures
  • Ensuring opening and closing procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ensuring stock levels are maintained in proportion to business and branch needs
  • Assisting with stock control checks when required by management
  • Ensuring adherence to all waste control measures in line with company standards and relevant procedures
  • Ensuring the correct use of all equipment supplied in line with training and guidance
  • Maintaining high levels of cleanliness within the front and back of house areas
  • Maintaining punctuality and an exemplary attendance record
  • Maintaining awareness of any security threats and informing the relevant manager/s of any security breaches
  • Reporting any maintenance issues immediately to the relevant manager/s
  • Providing cover and supervisory support for key aspects of branch operations in the absence of management
  • Conducting daily briefing meetings as and when required

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality/catering industry not mandatory but advantageous
  • Outstanding problem solving and organisational skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with our customers
  • Ability to train, motivate and develop the team and liaise between both the front of house and kitchen teams
  • An understanding of Food, Health & Safety
